Map & Boundary Disclaimer
Effective date: 21 May 2026 Last updated: 21 May 2026 Version: 1.0
This disclaimer applies to all maps, locator graphics, boundaries, place names, flags, and other geographic depictions shown anywhere on databook.dataint.net (the "Site").
1. Boundaries and names do not imply endorsement
The boundaries, names, colors, and designations shown on any map or locator on the Site are drawn from third-party geographic datasets (including Natural Earth, public domain) and from the cited data sources. They do not imply any opinion, judgment, or endorsement on the part of the Operator concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city, or area, or the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries.
This follows the long-standing convention used by international bodies (e.g. the United Nations and the World Bank), whose maps carry an equivalent notice.
2. Consistency with our reporting principle
The Site mirrors third-party sources and exercises no editorial judgment (see Terms of Use §1). The same applies to geography: where the status of a territory or a boundary is disputed, the depiction reflects the underlying dataset, not a position taken by the Operator. Different sources may show different boundaries; this is a property of the sources, not an assertion by us.
3. Locator graphics are illustrative
The locator graphics on the Site are simplified, low-resolution illustrations intended to indicate approximate location only. They are not suitable for navigation, legal, surveying, military, or any operational use, and may omit detail or contain simplification artifacts from the source geometry.
4. Attribution
Cartographic geometry is attributed on the relevant graphic and in Sources & Licensing (e.g. "Natural Earth — public domain").
5. Concerns
If you believe a geographic depiction is inaccurate or raises a concern, please use our Notice & Takedown / Correction process. Where the depiction originates in a third-party dataset, we may also direct the matter to that dataset's publisher.
