Databook is a curated, source-backed reference for the world's countries. Every figure on this site carries its source and publication year, so any number can be traced to a verifiable, authoritative dataset — and where authorities disagree, all of them are shown side by side.
Part of DataInt
Databook is part of DataInt, a data-as-a-service platform that curates and harmonises thousands of datasets from official and institutional publishers. DataInt focuses on the raw data layer — acquisition, validation, provenance and delivery; Databook was born from it to turn that data into a clean, browsable, country-by-country reference that anyone can read.
DataInt is one of the projects developed under Episteme, an artificial-intelligence and emerging-technologies company founded in 2025.
No editorial judgement
We do not interpret, rank or score. When authoritative sources report different values, we present them together — both numbers, both publishers, both years — and let the reader decide. We avoid opinion-based indices and never author the underlying data ourselves.
Traceable, open provenance
Each datum is drawn from an official publisher — UN agencies, the World Bank, V-Dem, IPU Parline, geoBoundaries and others — listed in full on the Sources page. The underlying data is published under open licenses (predominantly CC-BY), and every page is rebuilt reproducibly from those datasets.
Subicon Network
Episteme was founded by Subicon Network, an established technology, security and data consultancy and engineering firm operating since 1999. More than two decades of work in security and data systems underpin the engineering, sourcing discipline and long-term commitment behind Databook.
