These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of databook.dataint.net (the "Site"), operated by Sets Turan (trading as "Episteme"), established in Türkiye (the "Operator", "we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. What the Site is — and what it is not
The Site is a free, ad-supported reference resource that compiles and presents factual data as published by third-party sources (governments, international organizations, and other publishers). It is organized as a country-by-country, section-by-section reference.
Core principle — we report sources, not reality. The Site does not assert that any figure is the single correct truth. It reports what the cited source(s) say about a topic, with the source, edition/year, and (where sources differ) the range across sources shown. When multiple sources disagree, we show the disagreement rather than resolving it. The Site exercises no editorial judgment over which source is "right".
You should always verify any data against the original source linked on each page before relying on it.
2. No professional advice; no reliance
The content is provided for general information only. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, investment, navigational, or other professional advice, and must not be relied on for any decision with legal or financial consequences. You are solely responsible for how you use the content.
3. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (to the extent permitted by law) warranties of accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. Data is sourced from third parties and may be outdated, incomplete, contested, or contain errors originating in the source. We do not warrant that the Site is error-free or continuously available.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from (a) your use of or inability to use the Site, (b) reliance on any content, (c) errors or omissions in third-party source data, or (d) third-party advertisements or linked sites. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Turkish law or any other consumer-protection law that mandatorily applies to you.
5. Intellectual property
- Third-party data remains subject to the rights and licenses of its original publishers. The Site presents facts and source attributions; see Sources & Licensing for the licenses and required attributions, and the Map & Boundary Disclaimer for cartographic content.
- The Site itself — its selection, arrangement, structure, design, code, and original text — is protected as a compilation/work and is owned by the Operator or its licensors. You may view and share links to pages and make personal, non-commercial use of the content with attribution. Systematic scraping, bulk extraction, framing, or republishing of the Site's compilation is not permitted without our written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Site unlawfully or to infringe others' rights; (b) attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Site or its security; (c) circumvent the consent or advertising mechanisms; (d) misrepresent the Site's data as authoritative truth; or (e) scrape or harvest content at scale without permission.
7. Advertising
The Site is funded by advertising (Google AdSense). Advertisements and any sites they link to are controlled by third parties; we do not endorse and are not responsible for their content. Your interaction with ads is subject to the advertiser's and Google's terms. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for how advertising data is handled.
8. Third-party links
The Site links to original data sources and other third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites.
9. Corrections and takedown
If you believe content is inaccurate, infringes your rights, or raises a privacy concern, please use our Notice & Takedown / Correction process. Because we mirror third-party sources, corrections to underlying facts are generally best directed to the original publisher, but we will address issues attributable to the Site, without prejudice to applicable Turkish content-liability rules (including Law No. 5651).
10. Changes to the Site and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Site or any part of it at any time, and may update these Terms. For material changes we will post a prominent notice on the Site; continued use of the Site after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where local law requires affirmative acceptance for specific changes, we will obtain it.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Balıkesir, Türkiye shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
12. Language
The English version of these Terms is the authoritative version. Translations are provided for convenience; in case of any conflict or discrepancy, the English version prevails, except where mandatory local law requires the local-language version to govern for consumers in that jurisdiction.
