Notice, Takedown & Correction Policy
Effective date: 21 May 2026 Last updated: 21 May 2026 Version: 1.0
We want databook.dataint.net (the "Site") to faithfully reflect its sources. If something is wrong, infringing, or raises a privacy concern, this page explains how to tell us and what we will do.
1. Before you report — how the Site works
The Site mirrors third-party sources and does not assert its own version of the facts (see Terms of Use §1). So there are two kinds of issue:
- (A) The Site misrepresents what the source says — e.g. a transcription error, wrong figure, mislabeled year, broken provenance, or a display bug. We can and will fix this.
- (B) The underlying source itself is, in your view, wrong or contested — the figure is reported correctly from the source, but you disagree with the source. Here the right path is usually to take it up with the original publisher; we may add or adjust source context, but we will not substitute our own judgment for the source.
Telling us which kind of issue it is helps us act faster.
2. What to send
Email legal@episteme.fyi (or privacy@episteme.fyi for privacy matters) with:
- The exact page URL(s) and the specific item (country, section, field, value).
- What is wrong and why, with a reference to the correct source if you have one.
- The category: (A) misrepresentation/bug, (B) source dispute, (C) intellectual-property complaint, or (D) privacy/personal-data request.
- Your name and contact details (and, for IP/privacy requests, the basis for your request and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate).
3. Intellectual-property complaints
If you believe content infringes your copyright, database right, or trademark, please include all of the following so we can act:
- Identification of the protected work and the basis of your rights (e.g. copyright registration, trademark registration number, database-right claim).
- The exact infringing URL(s) on the Site and the material complained of.
- Your name, postal address, telephone number, and email.
- A good-faith statement that the use of the material is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on its behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will review promptly and, where warranted, remove or amend the content. Repeat or abusive complaints may be disregarded.
3.1 Counter-notice
If material of yours has been removed or disabled in response to an IP complaint and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice with all of the following:
- Your name, address, contact details, and physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Balıkesir, Türkiye and, for US-resident senders, also to the federal district court for any judicial district where the service provider may be found.
On receipt of a valid counter-notice we may restore the material unless the original complainant notifies us that they have initiated legal proceedings within a reasonable period.
4. Privacy / personal-data requests
For requests about personal data (access, correction, erasure, objection, opt-out) see the Privacy Policy §9–§10. Send personal-data requests to privacy@episteme.fyi.
5. What we do, and how fast
- We acknowledge valid reports within 5 business days.
- For category (A) bugs/misrepresentations and well-founded (C)/(D) requests, we aim to correct or remove within 30 days, faster for clear errors.
- For category (B) source disputes, we will explain the source basis and, where appropriate, add context or an additional source; we will not silently alter sourced data.
- We may decline requests that are unlawful, abusive, or unfounded, and will say why.
6. Good faith
Please report in good faith. Knowingly false or abusive notices waste resources and may carry legal consequences.
